Melissa was born and raised in Utah. Before becoming a Physician Assistant (PA), she was a medical assistant for over 10 years in various settings. During this time, she found mental health integral in every type of practice and desired to provide this care to everyone seeking it. She went on to obtain her Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions (RMUoHP) in Provo and is currently working towards her Doctorate of Medical Sciences (DMSc) at RMUoHP where she is increasing her skills in Mental Health diagnosis and management as well as various therapeutic skills.
Melissa is passionate about providing mental health in a safe, judgment-free space where anyone can feel comfortable despite the difficult topics that may need to be discussed. She believes each person deserves an individualized care plan and approaches each condition from a holistic viewpoint, including physical, mental, and emotional health. She encourages treatments to be evidence-based and also continues to look into new and innovative treatments.
When Melissa is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three kids, playing games of all kinds, watching movies, and spending time in the beautiful Wasatch mountains. When she has spare time, she enjoys reading books and is always looking for another great series to read. She also loves to travel, whether close to home or far away. She loves experiencing different cultures and finding new friends wherever she goes.
